The worldwide company Henkel S.p.a in Italy uses ComAp technology 04.10.2010

ComAp Systems Italy, led by Mr. Piero Piccolotto, is the very progressive and successful company supplying ComAp technology to the biggest companies in Italy. One of them is the company Henkel S.p.a. which utilizes ComAp Systems solution.

Henkel is the worldwide leader in the production of washing liquid and powder, its care towards environmental and energy problems have led to researches aiming to change the traditional energy sources.

After accurate research the company has chosen the cogeneration technology by gas engine, the cleanest fuel available in the market today.

The benefit, from the environment and economic point of view, comes from the system’s high efficiency. In fact the cogenerator produces electric energy and heat, used in the producing process, without losing it.

It’s the first plant in Europe made by Henkel group.

Combining the collaboration of Sime Energia (ESCO) and Electronic Solar (general contractor) companies, an ambitious project was born. A Rolls Royce K18 G4.2 engine with high efficiency along with a complex heat recovery system is able to generate steam, hot water and chilled water.

The result is a production plant that reaches 85% energy efficiency.

In order to manage the production of electricity Electronic Solar has chosen the ComAp InteliSys NT controller, considering its elevated technology is able to:

  • Adjust speed and voltage during synchronization
  • Synchronize the generator to the public network
  • Continuously regulate the power on a set point received by main control system
  • Dynamically regulate the power factor according to the timetables and the profiles determined by local network manager
  • Give complete protection to the generator
  • Protect the high voltage transformer
  • Transmit all the electrical values to the main control system by MODBUS

The ComAp Systems Italy followed and successfully co-ordinated all phases of the plant commissioning.
