Efficient transmit electricity from the solar power plant to the grid 01.08.2010

In late 2009, new solar power plant was successfully put into operation in the village Vojkovice near Prague by ComAp Systems CZ Division. With its installed capacity of 4.11 MWp, it is one of the largest solar power plants in the Czech Republic.

ComAp Systems CZ Division found a solution to efficiently transmit electricity from the solar power plant to the grid.

The delivery included one switchgear, consisting of four control sections and four power sections. Each control section is equipped with a control system InteliMains NT and a mains protection unit NPU.

InteliMains NT units control the contactors of outlet transformers to ensure operation of transformers at optimal performance. NPU units control the disconnection of the solar power plant from the grid in case of mains failure.

Transformers are organized in a cascade in term of control system. The first transformer is connected, provided the grid is available. Each additional transformer is connected once the given load limit is reached. If power of the solar power plant drops, transformers will disconnect in sequence until the minimum possible number of transformers operate, at a maximum efficiency.
