ComAp Systems C3 is the new player in the Latin American market 12.05.2011

ComAp Systems have been growing rapidly around the world and now plan to continue this growth by making a major investment in a new subsidiary that will serve the emerging Latin American market.

The subsidiary is being formed as a joint venture with Equitel Group and will trade using the name ComAp Systems C3. The new subsidiary will build on an established reputation in the area, where Equitel Group is the largest power gen-set provider in Colombia, with more than 50% market share (with over 17,000 Gen-Set sold to date), and has been using ComAp products since early 2010.

Jorge Cardona is the general manager of the new subsidiary. With a background in the telecommunications industry and over 15 years experience developing business in Latin America, he believes there is significant potential for ComAp Systems in the region, particularly since the oil and gas sector was opened up to international involvement. These development areas are remote and outside the supply of the electrical network, resulting in increased demand for independent power packages that feature remote supervision and control.

Jorge Cardona is excited by the opportunity presented by the joint venture, saying:
“Working together means the ComAp Systems subsidiary will be well positioned to become the best control solution integrator in the region, with many customers already acknowledging the advantages and premium quality of ComAp products. We look forward to provide customers with the most experienced team, delivering the best service in the country.”

The new subsidiary will operate based in Colombia (which has experienced GDP growing consistently at 6% over recent years) with the aim of extending service into neighboring countries and throughout Central America and the Caribbean – hence the name C3.
